Postcards Go High Tech

Filed under: MMS Postcards — admin @ 2:27 pm

Mms postcards gives camera phone owners the ability to send real-life postcards through Australia Post or overseas direct from their mobile phone.

Already an International hit, this is the first time MMS Postcards have been available to the Australian public. The innovative service is also available to dealers, resellers and other retailers as a whitelabel service they can offer to their existing customers.

“Apart from making MMS Postcards immediately available to the Australian public, we are also looking for partners interested in staking their claim in the booming mobile digital content market with this unique real world service,” said Paul McKenna, Director of PJ McKenna & Associates.

With the new service people with a camera phone can send a Multimedia Message Service (MMS) message to an easy-to-remember number 0428 AU POST (0428 28 7678), which is set to recognise incoming MMS messages.   They attach a personal message to the photo they want to send and include the postal address, either local or overseas, where they want to send their postcard. The system does the rest. The photo is printed at super high quality and their postcard is posted to arrive withing a couple of days.   “The use of mobile email and SMS texting is growing at a phenomenal rate. But while these mobile data services are booming, its very hard for dealers to get a piece of the action,” explains McKenna. “People still enjoy sending and receiving traditional paper postcards.   “MMS Postcards are a way to not only bridge the gap between electronic communications and the traditional through-the-mail postcards, they are a great way for dealers, resellers and other consumer oriented business partners to get into the mobile content business,” ,” he said.   “Since 2004 camera phones have been outselling digital still cameras by almost 4 to 1,” said McKenna. “With many camera phones now equipped with multi-megapixel cameras you can get great results sending a personalised postcard through the mail,” said McKenna.   The advantage of MMS Postcards is that it offers an easy, low-risk way to get a piece of the action. Partners make make a margin on each postcard sent, but don’t have to do anything to deliver the product. Each postcard can be branded with your own partner logo, a promotional message and second chance offer to provide MMS Postcard resellers a full whitelabel service solution.   In addition, each time one of your customers sends an MMS Postcard, the system will automatically reply with a confirmation message which could include another offer or promotional message. For example, “Thank you for your MMS postcard. Your card is now on its way for printing and delivery. Mention the code MMS and get 10% off any purchase”.   One of the great features of this Australian first system is its ability to accept MMS messages even from overseas. For example, a customer could be on a holiday in Europe and send a greeting back to family members in Australia. A traditional postcard would be mailed locally in Europe and it would take at least a week to arrive in Australia. However, the MMS Postcard reaches Australia in seconds and it is printed and delivered in just 2-3 days.   The system is end-user friendly and does not require any additional software to be installed on the phone. Also, it works with any carrier and any camera phone as long as the subscriber has Premium MMS activated. Billing happens conveniently and automatically through premium SMS service charges which are added directly to the customer’s next mobile phone bill.   All MMS postcard submissions will be recorded into a customer database, which will be made available to the promoting partner(s). The terms and conditions of the service will state that all entrants agree to be included in a marketing database and that they may occasionally receive relevant marketing material or offers from the promoting partners.
